For the first time in the history of the BMW 4-Series, the M440i xDrive version will appear — the novelty will receive a 374-horsepower in-line 6-cylinder gasoline engine and a 48-volt hybrid superstructure with a starter-generator that can provide an additional 11 hp. during acceleration. Also, the BMW M440i xDrive Coupe will be equipped with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, reinforced brakes, and a retuned suspension.
The car, which is built on the platform of the latest generation BMW 3-Series sedan, is being tested at a test center in French Miramas, at a training ground in the Swedish city of Arjeplug, on the German Nordschleife track (the northern loop of the Nurburgring race track) and on public roads near Munich in Germany.
